ICT FEST is an annual All-Ages music festival in Wichita, KS that brings together dozens of diverse local and regional acts. Organizer Matthew Clagg answered questions about this year's ICT FEST taking place September 3rd-5th at El Vaquero (1320 E Central Ave, Wichita, Kansas 67214).
How did ICT FEST originally start, how many years has it been going?
ICT FEST was started in 2004 by Dan Davis. Many of the touring bands were familiar with Wichita from touring through with Dan's older brother Matt Davis of Ten Grand. It was and remains a home for the all ages scene in Wichita, a place where young bands can play somewhere that isn't a basement and everyone can play to new people and make new friends.
How do you decide on which bands to book?
Some of the touring bands have come through in recent years and fully ripped, a lot of people just ask. I've tried to run the fest like an open source event—if you want to be involved, just tell me how and we can probably make it happen.

What's new about ICT FEST this year?
Three full days, more young bands. Every fest is new, each has a different feel from playing a different venue with a different mix of people.
What's your favorite memory from a previous ICT FEST?
My favorite ICT FEST memory is from the first one I attended in 2009. I won't describe it because you can find the whole thing on Youtube, but it involved STNNNG, lots and lots of humans on a tiny stage, donuts, hot dogs, and fun.
